These Five Items Are A Must For Any Crab Feast

Eating crabs is a favorite activity for many Marylanders. During the summer months in the Old Line State, crab feasts are common. If you are a Maryland resident, you probably already understand the proper way to eat crabs. If you are new to crab feasting, here are some essentials you will need to complete your crab feast.

Something To Open Your Crabs With

Even crab feast veterans are better off having a crab mallet and a knife for picking meat at the table. Crabs are sharp in certain places, and it does not make sense to risk cutting yourself when you can use a tool for extracting crab meat.

Newspaper Makes Cleaning Easier

Picking crabs is fun but also extremely messy. Expect your hands to be covered in seasoning within a matter of minutes. If possible, it is recommended to have your crab feast outside. Cover a picnic table with old newspaper and then start setting the table so that you don’t make that much of a mess.

Ice Cold Beverages

Crab and beer make the perfect combination. Make sure your refrigerator is well stocked with the beer of your choice. You can always opt for water or your favorite soda or juice if you prefer non-alcoholic beverages.

Side Dishes For Your Crab Feast

Corn on the Cob is a classic staple side dish. You can also try sides such as cole slaw, macaroni and cheese, hush puppies, and french fries. To complete your feast, you can also add appetizers such as clams casino, steamed shrimp, and buffalo wings.

Paper Towels Or Sanitary Wipes

It is impossible to have a crab feast without paper towels. Nobody wants dirty hands when handling the side dishes. Make sure you have several paper towel rolls on the table or sanitary wipes at your disposal.
