Here Are Three Helpful Tips For Preparing Steamed Shrimp

Here are some tips for preparing steamed shrimp.

There’s no denying that steamed shrimp is a delicious seafood dish. Although it seems simple, steaming shrimp can result in undesired results if you don’t follow specific instructions. This blog contains three tips you should use when you are cooking shrimp.

Use High-Quality Shrimp

This is half the battle, as using good shrimp is an excellent way to simplify the cooking process. It would be best if you made it a priority to select high-quality shrimp. You can choose fresh or frozen shrimp, and there are different sizes also available for you to use.

Use Proper Thawing Techniques

Thawing frozen shrimp is relatively simple. Remove the shrimp from the package and place it in a colander. Submerge the shrimp in cool water and pat the shrimp dry before cooking. When the shrimp is firm and flexible, it has been properly thawed. It would be best if you were sure to remove any shell from your shrimp.

Pay Attention To The Time

Bring half a pot of water to a boil over high heat. Season the shrimp with your preferred seasonings while it is still dry. Place the shrimp in the steamer of your choice above the water. For about five or six minutes, steam everything together. Toss it halfway through to ensure that it is evenly cooked. When you’re finished, serve it hot or let it cool.
