Here Are Four Must-Have’s For Your Summer Time Crab Feast

Marylanders love their crab feasts. It is an understatement to say that they have become a tradition in the Old Line State. To have a proper dinner, there are a few items that you cannot go without. Keep reading and discover a few crab feast must-haves for your next crab feast.

Crab feasts are pretty common in Maryland.

Crab Mallets

You can’t have a crab feast without having a few mallets on the table. Crab mallets are best served for cracking open crab claws. This cannot be done with your bare hand alone. If you try to do so, you will likely cut yourself. Crab mallets are available in both wood and metal.

Newspaper

Picking crabs is a messy job. If you want to make cleanup as easy as possible, line your table with yesterday’s newspaper. Ensure that the whole table covers, and don’t be afraid to lay down a few layers of it. Once the crab feast is over, you must roll up the newspapers with the crab shells inside and discard them.

Paper Towels

One of the reasons why people love crab feasts is because you are allowed to be messy and eat with your hands. Since everyone is bound to have dirty fingers, you need at least a couple of rolls of paper towels at the ready!

Crab Knives

Crabs are filled with delicious meat. The only issue is that it can sometimes be challenging to get to with only using your fingers. For that reason, many people like to use crab knives, which are used as tools for picking apart crabs.
