Tips For Grilling Seafood

Grilling is a commonly used cooking method for seafood.

Are you a seafood lover? Are you someone who whenever they go out to eat at a restaurant always chooses a seafood dish? In addition to being delicious, most types of seafood are actually healthy too! Most nutritionists recommend incorporating seafood into your diet. This is because there are many health benefits of eating fish and that is why plenty of people take fish oil pills. Although they can be beneficial to your health, they are not nearly as good for you as eating a serving of fish. If you are trying to consume more seafood, you should know how to cook it properly! For that reason, here are some helpful tips for grilling seafood!

Be Sure To Clean Your Grill Grates

Did you know that most kind of fish can be grilled directly on the grates? You just need to be sure you set your grill to high heat. There is a good chance there is still some residue left over from the last time you used your grill. If you were cooking any form of red meat, there is probably some leftover fat clinging to your grill grates. If left uncleaned, this is unhygienic and contaminate the flavor of your seafood. It is always a good idea to give them a proper cleaning before cooking.

Know The Hot/Cool Spots On Your Grill

If you have never grilled seafood before, you may be surprised how fast it cooks! All too often people grill their fish too often, and it turns to mush. If squid is overcooked, it basically becomes rubber. To prevent overcooking seafood, you need to watch it like a hawk and determine where the hot and cool spots are on the grill. If something is cooking too quickly, simply move it to a cooler spot on your grill.
