Four Easy Tips For Eating Seafood Throughout The Week

There is a vast variety of seafoods that are high in Omega 3s.

Is seafood a part of your diet? Seafood contains a wide range of nutrients such as healthy omega-3 fats and can be an excellent source of lean protein. Studies have shown that eating certain types of seafood can even help prevent heart disease and fight off depression. If you want to incorporate more seafood into your diet, here are a few easy tips that will help/encourage you to eat it throughout the week!

Eat A Variety Of Seafood

There is a vast variety of seafood choices that are high in Omega 3s. Some of your options include oysters, salmon, sardines, and mackerel. These are also great seafood choices because they are also relatively low in mercury.

Use It On Sandwiches and In Salads

Seafood is incredibly versatile. It can be prepared in a variety of ways. Canned tuna is great on sandwiches, and there is no reason why you can’t top a salad with shrimp or scallops instead of chicken.

Don’t Forget About Shellfish

There is no reason why shellfish can’t be the main protein source in a dish! In moderation, shellfish is good for you! (as long as it isn’t fried or cooked in butter). It is very high in protein and contains very little fat.

Know Your Seafood Portions

As is the case with all types of food, seafood needs to be eaten in moderation. You never want to go overboard with your weekly seafood consumption. Try to eat around eight ounces of seafood every week.
