Even if cooking isn’t your thing, that’s okay! There’s always time to learn. Seafood lovers can enjoy their favorite meal from the comfort of their own homes. Of course, if they are looking for something different, then heading to Baltimore’s traditional seafood destination is a must. Here’s everything you need to know about cooking seafood

Choose Carefully

Before we begin, here’s a good piece of advice: choose your seafood carefully.it doesn’t matter if you choose fresh or frozen – all of it has been frozen before it hits the grocery store. Lobster doesn’t travel that well, so bear that in mind as you choose where to source it from; lastly, not all fish are created equal. Some are good in sushi and poke bowls, and others are not.

Don’t Select Endangered Species

Some types of fish belong to different categories of endangered species. Bluefin tuna and red snapper are delicious but hard to find. Still, that doesn’t need to present an obstacle. Simply choose substitutes such as ahi tuna, black sea bass, and yellowfin tuna.

Storing the Fish

How to store seafood is always a question everyone asks. Don’t use plastic freezer bags. When it comes to fish and other seafood, you’ll need to approach it differently. Containers of ice are a better bet instead.

Time for Cooking

Seasoning and searing a fish filet might be all you need to bring together your next seafood masterpiece. Cleaning the fish – gutting and scaling them – could be necessary, especially with fresh-caught fish. Grilled fish is delicious, but you need to approach it carefully.

Learning Some Secrets

Cooking seafood doesn’t need to be a mystery. Did you know that you can boil crab and lobster? Picking out the ones you want is a much trickier task than actually preparing them for your table. Shrimp can be steamed, and prepared in several other ways as we have mentioned before. You can also experiment with scallops by lightly sauteeing them. Shuck some oysters and serve them on the half-shell with some cold beer or ale, or turn them into something delicious, like southern fried oysters.
