Color Of Their Shells
Many people are confused about why blue crabs are not blue when they are cooked. The reason for that is because there is a pigment inside those shells that give them that blue color. However, when they are placed in hot water, that pigment is broken down, and they turn red.

If you are a science buff, you will probably appreciate this one. The blue crab’s scientific name is Callinectes sapidus. When this is translated from the Latin language, it means beautiful savory swimmer.
