Oysters are commonly consumed throughout the year; however, oysters usually taste best during the winter season. For starters, it is far more difficult to keep oysters fresh during the hot parts of the year. If you can’t keep the oysters cold, they are going to go bad in a hurry. Also, during the winter, the cold water temperatures are ideal for oysters. Oysters are always going to taste better when they have been living in cold water.
