Feast your eyes on these delicious edible crabs that will create a tornado of flavor for your taste buds!

Snow Crabs

First up on our list is the ever-popular snow crab. These rascals produce pure-white-looking meat, which gives them their nickname. Most of the time, restaurant-grade snow crabs come to you from the East Coast, but they’re also easy to fish for in the Pacific Ocean. These edible crabs have long legs, and their meat is firm but not as sweet as other meats are. Cooked snow crabs are especially fun to eat because you can pull the shells apart with your bare hands.

Dungeness Crabs

Meanwhile, Dungeness crabs are native to the west coast. Despite their size, their bountiful harvests mean that they are also exceedingly common and easy to find. Even though they tend to be bigger than their cousins, they also have shorter and stumpier legs.

King Crabs

King crabs are the undisputed heavyweight champions of the seafood table. For one thing, they can reach up to 25 pounds – making them bigger than the ordinary house pet! Eighteen species swarm the shorelines of Alaska. Their enormous legs also give up tender meat that is delightfully sweet. The texture is also excellent and won’t fall apart when being picked.

Stone Crabs

Stone crabs primarily come to us from Florida. Unlike other edible crabs, you can only eat their legs. Stone crabs have the unique ability to regrow lost limbs. As such, crab-fishers yank off a claw and lob them back into the water. The meat is sweet and firm, which will definitely give you a pleasant mouth-feel.
