Last Friday, October 28th, Costas Inn was featured on Michael Symon’s show, Burgers, Brew and Que.  The entire episode was based in Baltimore, so of course, the classic crab cuisine was explored.  And who does crabs better than Costas Inn?  The episode included a fantastic segment on our restaurant and the menu items we have to offer.  Let’s have a quick run-down on what exactly Michael Symon covered.

Focus on Baltimore

Baltimore, and Maryland at large, is famous for its crabs.  This is not something that went overlooked on the segment; Symon went over the history and influence that Baltimore has on the state and the food.  As always, crabs are seen as Baltimore’s best.  The segment brought up a locally brewed beer served at Costas Inn: The Raven Beer.  The beer is named after Edgar Allan Poe’s famous poem, The Raven, which is the name origin for Baltimore’s football team.  As Symon said on the show about Baltimore’s crab cakes, “When I think of Baltimore, this is what I think of.”

Showcasing Menu Items

Some of Costas’ most famous dishes were shown on the show, including our infamous 8 oz. crab cake.  The show hosts started with our impressive Bloody Mary, and followed that with Maryland soft shell crabs.  When the crabs molt their shells, they leave behind an entirely edible body that doesn’t need to be picked for meat.  After being pan fried, the crabs can be eaten whole!  Then, Michael Symon tried out our delicious crab cakes.  The show presented a fantastic tribute to Costas Inn, and we are incredibly honored to have been chosen among the restaurants that were showcased in the episode.  For more information on the show, you can check out the hashtag #BurgersBrewQue on Twitter.
