Shellfish Are Important Part Of Our Ecosystem

Did you know that shellfish survive by filtering water? They are an extremely important part of the ecosystem because they can filter up to 20 gallons of water in a day! By doing so, they help to keep bodies of water clean! If there were ever a shortage of shellfish in the world, our oceans would be in serious trouble.

Most people know that fish is extremely healthy when it is consumed in moderation, but did you know what makes it so healthy? Most species of fish are full of omega-3 fatty acids. This is why so many people take fish oil pills every day. Omega-3’s are classified as being a healthy fat and is good for a person’s heart health.

Fish Should Be Cooked At A Low To Medium Temperature

Many people struggle to cook fish because they are unaware that they are using too high of a temperature. Generally speaking, you want to keep the temperature from low to medium heat. For example, you do not want to cook a fish over 350 degrees in the oven because there it could cause the fish to lose moisture. There are exceptions to this rule (ex: deep frying fish).
